City Vino is a place where top Chefs create unique dishes using their knowledge gained while studying at the best culinary schools and while working with the most renown chefs of the world. A place to find the best selection of wines from all around the world without the ridiculous restaurant markup. A place where a wine newbie or connoisseur can taste different wines hand-selected by our sommeliers. A place where you can buy a bottle or a case to bring home at 20-30% off already low prices.

City Vino was created to be the premier eating and wining experience in the New Jersey Hudson river waterfront. With a menu featuring more than thirty plates created from a fusion of food from around the world and a wine list of more than 230 wines including most of the grape varieties and from countries that produce the best wines of the world. We try to give our customers the best wine and food experience available.

Miguel Viacava, a wine entrepreneur with many years in the business, moved to the Jersey City waterfront in 2003, and since then had the idea of creating City Vino. The area has been growing and many people work or live on the waterfront. It is true that in Manhattan you can find the best restaurants in the world, but there are times that you prefer to stay for lunch, dinner or simply a glass of wine on this side of the river and the alternatives were not the best ones.

We wanted to have a place that would make people from New York cross the river to eat or buy wine. A place where top Chefs would create unique dishes using the knowledge gained while studying at the best culinary schools and while working with the most renown chefs of the world. A place where you could find the best selection of wines from all around the world and you would not have to pay the high markups of restaurants of the NY/NJ area. A place where you can taste different wines, drink them with a unique dish, or buy a wine to take home all at the same accessible price.

We are excited to have with us an outstanding chef that created the menu you can enjoy in City Vino. Lucia Calvete, is a graduate of the Institute of Culinary Education in New York City and was a Chef in the prestigious Nobu Restaurant in Tribeca.

Sommelier and owner Miguel Viacava, created a wine list based on quality and value. We selected different grape variety wines from all around the world based not only on our personal tastes, but also the opinions of important industry critics. We are proud to say that we have one of the best wine selections in the country and we are proud to offer them for consumption in our restaurant or at home for the same retail  price.

The City Vino experience doesn’t end in great food and great wine. The experience of Mr. Viacava in the wine world has allowed him to meet wine makers, producers, chefs, and experts from all around the world. City Vino will have special events as seminars, dinners, and conferences with personalities from the Wine and Culinary world and you are invited to join us. Cheers!
